English for Engineering, Science and Technology (EEST) is an intensive 5 week course for students who need to communicate in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields for study or work.

EEST entry requirements

  • IELTS Overall 5.0 with 5.0 writing OR equivalent test scores OR as a result of an interview and placement test

Course Content

The EEST course helps you to develop your English skills in engineering, scientific and technical areas by:

  • Listening to and reading scientific and technical explanations and reports, rules and regulations
  • Presenting on scientific or technical topics
  • Writing explanatory texts on EST topics including data and process analysis
  • Developing vocabulary related to engineering, science and technology
  • Participating effectively in workplace-style group discussions such as making plans and discussing issues such as accidents
