Classes may be scheduled in the morning or the afternoon at our Kensington or Randwick Campus

Writing Practice:
  • Planning and writing a biography using subordinators
Reading and Speaking Skills:
  • Practising reading fluency and critical thinking skills based on weekly theme: sport and fitness
Discussion Skills:
  • Asking for assistance + pronunciation - sentence stress
Listening Skills:
  • Transactional conversations and tutorial style discussion – giving opinions, reasons and examples
11.30 - 1.30pm Writing Skills:
  • Analysing simple sentence clause structure and preparing to write a biography
Consultation and Independent Learning:
  • Individual consultation with class teacher + guided research and critical thinking skills

Reading and vocabulary:
  • Using contextual information and word parts and meaning of cohesive markers to understand a text based on weekly theme: sport and fitness
Language 2:
  • Revising tenses and verb patterns- present Simple - speaking practice

  • Encouraging critical thinking and recycling target vocabulary based on weekly theme: sport and fitness

Final course marks are based on:

  • Ongoing assessment in class based on clearly focused tasks.
  • Participation in class activities such as pair work, group work and special projects.
  • Homework tasks and special assignments based on researching topics and spoken presentations.
  • Term tests based on material covered during the period of study. At the successful completion of the course, you will receive a UNSW Institute of Languages certificate at a graduation ceremony.
